A Nostalgic Pause: Reflecting on My Journey in Fine Art Photography

I’ve recently done a photo shoot for a family I know well. Normally, I would decline family, wedding, or event photo shoots, as I have moved away from that early part of my career. Back in 2015, as a freelance photographer, I quickly fell in love with portrait shoots using analog, polaroid, and digital cameras. My passion began with a Polaroid collection that sold out at a gallery alongside my Alienation photo series, which marked the start of my professional journey as a fine art photographer in 2016.

Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to creating fine art photographs, always seeking to make a statement about the environment, society, and people, balanced with a touch of humor. Over the past nine years, I’ve encountered kindness and harshness alike, all of which have helped me grow and brought me to where I am today, with no regrets.

As a fine art photographer, I see my work as a stage of life that I deeply enjoy. I create art primarily for myself, hoping it resonates with others and makes a positive impact. I don’t produce works for commercial purposes but for genuine expression.

At this moment, I’m considering taking a pause from creating fine art photography to focus more on my premium sustainable clothing brand, Studio Mark & Jimena and other businesses I have. By the end of the year, my current exhibition at Charlottenberg Library will conclude, followed by two more scheduled exhibitions—one duo and one solo. My summer photo gallery has just closed, and I have no plans for exhibitions next year. These are your last chances to see my photographs in person for a while.

I don’t know how long this pause will last or if I’ll return, but I can say that I still love fine art photography. And thank you for everyone who have given me support!
